Justices A.Selvam and N.Authinathan, hearing a PIL, wondered how a state institution could say shotrage of funds and lack of infrastructure as a reason for reducing the intake.
They directed the univeristy officials to produce the so called resolution by next week.
Petitioner's counsel R.Alagumani said private universities were charging exhorbitantly for law courses and the students were not getting admission in the state-run institute also.
The decision to reduce the intake was taken by syndicate represented by eminent men incuding sitting judge of Madras High Court.
