The Madras High Court today directed the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police to consider within 12 weeks the representations made by some police personnel to post them in their native districts.
On a petition by Grade-II Constable Sathish of Cuddalore Taluk, recruited in 2010, Justice N Kirubakaran directed the DGP to consider the representation made by the personnel attached to the Armed Reserve Police on August 13 and September 4 and pass appropriate orders within 12 weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
The petitioner submitted that after their recruitment to Tamil Nadu Special Police and after the training period of six months, all of them were transferred to Armed Reserve Police and posted in various places.
He submitted the DGP's office informed that they will be posted in their native districts on giving their representations. They have already given their representations in these dates, the petitioner said.
The petitioner submitted their request and the representations were not considered till date and they are facing a lot of two difficulties in the places they were posted.
He further alleged the 2011 batch were given the luxury of serving in their own districts and even the police persons, who were recruited in 2013, were posted to their native districts.
As the individual representations did not evoke any response, the petitioner said they have collectively made a representation signed by a number of affected police personnel whose request was not also considered.
He further alleged representations were made by women police as well. Hence, they sought a direction to the DGP to consider their representations.
