The Allahabad High Court today took a serious view of the abduction of a 14-year-old girl and directed senior police officials to appear before it next week.
The bench comprising justices Vipin Sinha and JJ Munir passed the order while hearing a petition filed by a woman from the city whose daughter was abducted by three men in July, 2016.
The bench directed the SSP, the SP along with the SHO of Dhoomanganj and Khuldabad of Allahabad to be present before it on the next date of hearing on November 20.
The petitioner alleged that the abductors--Ashad, Nausaf and Gafar--had brought back the girl to her and warned the woman not to file a complaint with the police.
The mother alleged that the three again abducted the girl in December last year and told her that they had sold her to someone.
She alleged that she then tried to get an FIR lodged but the police officers refused. The FIR was only registered after four months in April 2017.

The petitioner alleged in that the investigating officers did nothing to recover the girl or arrest the accused named in the FIR.
On November 10, the court had observed, "It appears that the enforcing agency was playing into the hands of mafias and 'goondas' and they were not bothered with the safety and security of the members of civilized society of Allahabad, especially minor girls and children and senior citizens."
The court also said it seemed that the "law and order machinery had collapsed" in the district.
