A bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and G P Mittal also asked police to produce the girl before it on a plea of her 21-year-old husband, who alleged that his in-laws have kept his wife captive soon after their wedding on May 6.
The court has directed Delhi government standing counsel to ensure the presence of the girl and her parents on May 27.
The bench also directed the SHO concerned of Sangam Vihar Police Station here, to look into the matter and investigate the issue.
He said both of them lived in the same locality since childhood and fell in love and decided to get married on attaining majority.

Their marriage was solemnised in presence of witnesses. When the couple went to the girl's parents to seek their blessings they asked the groom to come the next day as they wished to perform some rituals, the petition said.
The next day when he went to bring back his wife, her parents asked him to forget her and also threatened him that if he does not return the marriage certificate and photos, they will kill his wife in the name of honour as she belonged to a different caste, it added.
