Hearing a Habeas Corpus Petition filed by T Meenakshi, whose child delivered after C-Section went missing on Jun 15, Justices S Rajeswaran and T Mathivanan directed the city police to submit a report of the missing infants from the hospital.
They also ordered issue of notice to the Home Secretary, DGP, ADGP of CBCID, Joint Director of CBI, Dean of GRH to reply within seven days.
Meenakshi said she was admitted to the hospital on June 14 and gave birth to a male child after C-Section. Then she was shifted to a ward from the operation theatre on the same day and was accompanied by her mother, mother in law and husband.
When the Meenakshi refused to hand over the child, the woman forcefully pushed her and took the baby and escaped from the ward. Though a search was conducted, the woman could not be traced, Meenakshi said.

Though she lodged police complaint with the GRH police under Section 363 of IPC (kidnapping, till today police were not able to trace the infant and could not arrest the kidnappers.
The petitioner submitted that she suspected that an organised child traffic gang was operating in the hospital with an intention to kidnap the new born babies.
The case was adjourned to August six.
