In his interim orders on a petition seeking action against the IPL organisers, Justice N Kiriubakaran also directed the state police, including DGP and IGs of South and Central zones, to file the case diary prepared pursuant to this court's April 20, 2012 order.
He also wondered if there was any control mechanism in existence since it related to telecasting/broadcasting of such inaugural function throughout the country.
The judge asked whether the government could establish such a mechanism to control telecasting such functions.
He told the Assistant Solicitor General to take notice of the same and get instructions from the Central government.
He also directed police to produce the copy of the DVD containing the recording of the entire programme and asked not to take any "coercive" steps as per the FIR till September 21 and posted the case for further hearing to that date.
On September 3, police had informed the court that a case had been registered against IPL organisers.

Petitioner K Jebakumar, a city-based lawyer, sought a direction to the DGP to register the case on the basis of a complaint lodged by him on April 4.
According to him, the performers including Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra and American pop star Katy Perry and Australian cricketer Douglas Bollinger, as well as BCCI chief N Srinivasan and IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla are liable to be prosecuted under various IPC sections.
He said the police ought not to have turned a blind eye to "cultural vandalism" in the name of Western celebrative practices during occasions such as IPL inaugural, especially when the courts disapproved of the practice of organising even dance dramas in village temples on the ground of obscenity.
