The Lucknow bench comprising Justices Shiva Kirti Singh and Devendra Kumar Arora passed the order on a petition filed by a local lawyer Farooq Ahmed seeking direction for constituting UP minority commission without any delay.
Ahmed contended in the plea that the commission was existing without any chairman, vice chairman and members since April 2012.
The division bench in its order said,"We dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the opposite parties (state of UP and others) to complete the task of constitution of the commission in accordance to law at an early date, preferably within two months".
