The Delhi High Court today dismissed former Union minister Salman Khurshid's plea seeking an interim stay on his expulsion from the membership of Delhi Public School (DPS) Society in 2015.
A bench of justices S Ravindra Bhat and A K Chawla rejected the Congress leader's appeal saying there was no merit in it.
"In view of the foregoing reasons, this court is of opinion that there is no merit in the appeal; it is, therefore, dismissed without order on costs," the bench said.
A termination notice was issued to Khurshid, a senior advocate, in 2015, asking him to cease from membership of the society.
He challenged the expulsion before a single judge of the Delhi High Court which dismissed his plea saying that no prima facie case existed in his favour.
Khurshid filed an appeal before the division bench contending that the expulsion was not justified in law and sought interim relief of stay on expulsion.

He had also sought that no life member should be inducted in the resultant vacancy.
The incident dates back to 2015 when a case of alleged trespass in DPS Society's office was filed against Sharada Nayak.
A notice was issued to Khurshid when to take up and advice in a civil case filed by Nayak against the society.
Khurshid had told the court that he was a life member of the society and had been associated with various committees constituted to inquire into allegations of wrongdoing.
In its order, the division bench noted that as a member of society, the Congress leader was obliged to observe the rules and regulations of the society along with the object with which it was formed.
It said he had consciously signed up and became a member of the society after learning about its prevailing rules and regulations of the society and he knowingly bounded himself to the existing rules and regulations of the society.
