Kerala High court today dismissed the anticipatory bail application of T K Naushad, who is alleged to have played a key role in the mining ore case in Chakittapara in Kozhikode district, in four criminal cases against him.
Dismissing the anticipatory bail plea, Justice Thomas P Joseph said the matter required investigation and investigating agency had to find out whether documents were bogus.
Court asked the investigating agency, crime branch, to look into all matters 'dispassionately' and added that if anticipatory bail was granted at this stage, it could affect investigation.
The cheating cases were registered by Mukkam and Baluserry police stations.
State opposed the bail plea saying investigation was stayed by high court and the crime branch was not able to probe the matter.
The allegations against Naushad was that he had cheated the complainants offering shares in the quarries making them to believe that he was Managing Director of the quarry companies.
Even though the petitioner complained that there was a concerted effort to implicate and target someone by the real estate lobby, court did not go into such matters.
Yesterday, the court had dismissed Naushad's plea to quash the criminal cases against him.
