Justice Indermeet Kaur extended the relief to the MLA, saying the "police was unnecessarily creating a hype in this matter. What can a legislator do? There are many more issues which are serious in nature, but no arrests are being made."
"You (MCD and Delhi police) have a demolition order, why don't you go an execute your orders," the court said, adding that May 18 order by which the MLA was given protection from arrest is extended till September 7.
Meanwhile, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Sanjay Jain, appearing for Delhi police requested the court that the MLA's application for anticipatory bail be turned down and he be handed over to the police for custodial interrogation because due to the influence exercised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, the complainant official was not cooperating with the probe.
ASG also submitted that being an elected representative and sitting MLA, he was supposed to help government servants who were performing their official duties but instead of doing so he sided with ruckus wrong doers.
Meanwhile, it asked FSL Director to expedite the results of the forensic analysis.
It also directed FSL to retrieve from Amarjeet's phone the recording he had made of the incident which he had subsequently deleted.
