The court gave the direction after taking up a miscellaneous petition filed by All India Save Education Committee.

The last date for controversial e-admission and as well as manual admissions for the degree colleges was earlier fixed on June 18. The same would now be open up to June 25, said the committee's joint secretary Biswabasu Das.

A division bench of Chief Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice S K Mishra on the day took up the petition and looking at the urgency of the matter extended the deadline of submission of admission forms.

According to sources, the main petition seeking to quash the state government's impugned order for compulsory e-admission in degree colleges from this year is likely to come up for final disposal on June 20.

Following the state government's decision to go for compulsory e-admission, the committee had approached the High Court last month.

In an interim order, the court had asked the state government to entertain the application forms submitted by the admission seekers manually.

However, the government dillydallying with its decision allowed for manual submission of application forms along with online submission of forms.

But here also, the state government appeared quite reluctant to follow the HC order and did not supply the application forms to the colleges.

With much persuasion, the same was allowed only last week allowing only three days for the students to go for manual submission of the forms for which the last date was fixed on June 18.

The HC extended the deadline for another one week and the last date now is fixed on June 25.
