Justice P Devadoss directed her to execute a bond for Rs 10,000 and two sureties of like sum and appear before the police concerned as and when required.
Police had registered a case on a complaint by one Syed Pudansa, AIADMK town secretary of Gobichettypalayam, that Premalatha had allegedly stated at a public meeting in that town on April 14 that the drought relief fund was not properly distributed by Environment Minister Thoppu Venkatachalam.
He also alleged that her speech was intended to provoke breach of peace.
After an FIR was filed, Premalatha had moved the Madras High Court, apprehending arrest.
