HC issues notice to higher education secy

:Madras High Court bench today issued notice to the Higher Education secretary, on a petition from a former staff member of Madurai Kamaraj University, seeking an interim injunction to restrain a physics Phd degree holder from continuing as senior professor at the centre of Bioinformatics in MKU school of biotechnology.
Solaimalei, a former staff member, sought an interim injunction to restrain S Krishnaswamy from continuing in the post, claiming that appointment of a Physics P.Hd degree holder as senior professor at the Centre was irregular.
He also wanted the court to issue writ of quo warranto seeking to know as to under what authority he continued to be Senior professor of the school of biotechnology.
Justice Ravichandra babu ordered notice to the Higher education secretary and Posted the case after four weeks.
The Petitioner submitted that the Tamil Nadu government had not sanctioned the post. The approval granted by the Syndicate and Registrar was 'unwarranted' as the financial implications would befall on the University, he claimed.
