According to the scheme, village lands in Tamil Nadu was re-surveyed and new patta, new survey numbers and sub division numbers were given. But there were a number of discrepancies in the updating done under the UDR, he claimed.
Then in 2003,therecords were computerised, adding to more discrepancies. This was brought to the notice of the revenue secretary and a circular was issued on July 11,2014 giving instructions to the collector as to how theerrors should be rectified, but errors erupted as the instructions were not implemented, the petitioner alleged. This led to several civil suits.
There was patent errorin the revenue records, the petitioner claimed and this caused mental agony and irreparable loss to the farmers.
The petitioner prayed that the court should intervene and direct officials to correct the errors.
