When the revision petition filed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Vellore, came up for hearing, Justice P Devadoss ordered notice to the Tamil Maanila Congress leader and his wife.
According to the prosecution, Gnanasekaran had allegedly acquired properties in his name and that of his wife worth about Rs 3,15,07,577 when he was the MLA of Vellore constituency from May 13, 2006 to May 14, 2011.
The court, however, allowed the discharge petitions filed by Gnanasekharan and his wife on February 29 last.
Challenging this, the DVAC moved the present petition. It submitted that the trial court failed to consider the fact that there were more than sufficient materials available on records produced by it to proceed with the framing of charges.
The petition urged the court to set aside the order of trial court discharging the accused from the case.
