Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court was today moved seeking action against BJP candidate in Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency H Raja for posting a video of his alleged hate speech on the internet.
Petitioner Abdul Habur sought a direction to state Home Secretary and DGP to register a case and transfer it to CBI for investigation.
As the speech was being shown through "YouTube", the Union Home Secretary and Tamil Nadu Home Secretary should prevent such websites from re-telecasting it, he said.
Petitioner also sought suitable instructions to the officials to keep a vigil and take action against those who were making inflammatory speeches.
He submitted that Raja made the speech in January last against social reformer E.V.R.Periyar, Muslims and Christians and it showed "extreme level of hatred", which was condemned by various organisations and a memorandum was presented to the DGP. But no action was taken.
Justice V.Ramasubramanian and Justice V.M.Vimala asked the counsel to implead Raja and posted the case for hearing next week.
