The Orissa High Court today issued notices to New Delhi-based Director General of Civil Aviation asking the regulatory body to furnish details as to why the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri could not come under the purview of "No fly zone."
A Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Pradeep K. Mohanty and Justice Biswajit Mohanty issued the notices after admitting a PIL to this effect. All the respondents of the PIL, including DGCA, have been asked to file their counters within two weeks.
Besides DGCA, the Civil Aviation Secretary, Odisha Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, Shree Jaganath temple chief administrator, Puri Collector and SP are mentioned as respondents to the PIL filed by advocate Nishikant Mishra.
The PIL has sought judicial intervention to declare the famous Puri temple as 'no fly zone' and extend the same measure temporarily over the airstrip of Bada Danda during Rath Yatras.
