The Madhya Pradesh High Court today served a notice to the state government seeking its reply on the security arrangements at the tourist spots.
Based on a PIL filed by activist Pramod Dwivedi, a division bench of the High Court in Indore, comprising Justices P K Jaiswal and T K Kaushal, served the notice to the state government that is returnable in four weeks.
"My client has drawn the court's attention towards the flawed safety and security arrangements at the tourist spots in the state," the petitioner's counsel Manish Yadav told reporters here.
He alleged although the government spends crores of rupees on the maintenance of tourist spots annually, it goes waste.
"Many such places have turned into the dens of anti-social elements and criminals," he said.
In the PIL, the petitioner cited the recent incidents of gang rape at the famous Kajligarh fort near here.
