A Division Bench comprising Justice R K Agrawal and Justice R S R Maurya passed the order on a PIL filed by Santosh Kumar Pandey, a social activist who is also a resident of Allahabad.
In the PIL, it has been alleged that contracts for construction of toilets at the two-month-long religious congregation, which is scheduled to begin in January next year, had been awarded "in violation" of the state government's tender policy.
The petitioner prayed the court issue directions for an inquiry by an appropriate agency into the alleged irregularities in awarding of contracts.
The court fixed November 30 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
