HC orders issue of notices to authirities

Madras High Court today ordered issue of notices to counsel for Chief Election Commissioner, Tamil Nadu Election Commission and Additional Government Pleader Sanjay Gandhi, whi is the counsel for Secretary, Local Administration Dept, District Collector, Ariyalur on a petition by K Chinnapillai, who contested as BJP candidate for ward no 12, Andimadam which fell vacant.
According to Chinnapillai the Block Development Officer, of Ariyalur district was appointed as the Election officer. She alleged that by "playing fraud" the Election Officer declared AIADMK's S Selvaiah as un opposed candidate.
She submitted that she has already sent complaints to Chief Election Commissioner and other concerned authorities that she has not withdraw her nomination and "fraud" in declaring S Selviah as elected member.
She sought to declare the election of S Selvaiah as null and void and also sought a direction from the court to constitute a special team from CBI to go into illegalities that have been committed.
Justice V Ramasubramanian ordered issue of notices to concerned officials.
