The order was passed by Justice K B K Vasuki on a petition by one Bhavani who submitted that she had left behind all her belongings when she left for her mother's house in Bangalore on June 27 last.
Since she apprehended trouble if she visited the house, she had given a complaint to the Ambattur All-Women Police Station against her in-laws. The police called her husband and made inquiries but did not take any further action as her husband was influential, she charged.
Bhavani got married in Chennai on August 22, 2010 and gave birth to a girl on June 19, 2012. She was residing with her husband and daughter in her father-in-law's house in Ambattur. Since her husband and in-laws were allegedly demanding dowry and harassing her, she spent sleepless nights and decided to return to her mother's house.
