The court, which which went through the report filed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Harur in Krishnagiri district, on the death of Elavarasan, which triggered a caste violence in the Vanniar belt, transfered the case to CB-CID on a petition filed by father T Elango.
The petition relates to the death Elavarasan in 2013, whose body was found near a railway track in Dharmapuri district. After Elavarasan's marriage with Divya, a caste Hindu girl in 2012, some Dalit colonies in the district had witnessed violence.
However, after going through the report of the DSP and two conflicting reports on the autopsy of the body by two teams of doctors, the court said, "In view of the different perceptions of two doctors, we consider it appropriate that the deposition and investigation materials be handed over to the CB-CID for further investigation and a report be submitted to us."
Elango submitted that his son married a caste Hindu girl. The girl's father committed suicide and the caste Hindus unleashed violence on Dalits living in three colonies in Dharmapuri district. Nearly 400 houses were burnt and properties belonging to Dalits were damaged.
Alleging that the investigation was not been done properly the petitioner moved court stating that to unearth the truth, scientific and fair investigation was required and sought for a direction to appoint Special Investigation Team of CBI into the death of his son.
