Justice Mukta Gupta rejected Reddy's bail plea while accepting the prosecution's argument that he had failed to cooperate with the investigation and had been declared as a proclaimed offender by a trial court.

"I don't find any merit in the contentions made by the petitioner's counsel...I do hereby dismiss the petition," Justice Gupta said.

Reddy had sought bail on the ground of parity, pleading that as the main accused, Suresh Kalmadi and Organising Committee Director General V K Verma, were freed on bail he is also entitled to the same relief.

Challenging the trial court's February 16 order dismissing his plea, Reddy had said the alleged role attributed to him is insignificant in comparison to other accused persons including that of Kalmadi and Verma.

Earlier, Reddy's lawyer had contended before the high court that the charge sheet did not disclose that his client had conspired or was in any way involved in the alleged conspiracy with any of the CWG Organising Committee's (OC) members or the other accused.

Reddy's counsel had submitted his client must be given bail as he had never tried to influence the witnesses in the case.

The OC officials and two companies were charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating, criminal conspiracy and forgery and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
