The Madras High Court has rejected the Staff Selection Commission's contention that a youth was denied the job of constable because he did not mention his choice of force in the application whether he wanted to join in BSF, CISF or CRPF.
The petitioner Muthu Rakku contended that he wrote the examination in 2011, scored 46 marks and had cleared physical examination and medical tests. He had applied under General Category.
He said those who scored much less mark than him were selected, but he was not appointed. When he wanted to know the reason, Rakku was told that he did not fill the application properly and did not mention the name of the force he wanted to join. He said he was prepared to join any force.
Justice M M Sundaresh of Madurai Bench said it was not proper to deny appointment for an ordinary reason and ordered the SSC to provide a job to him within three months.
