According to Achutanandan, the case, ordered by Chief Minister Oomen Chandy in June last, was 'politically motivated' and no offence had been made against him. It was illegal and liable to be quashed.
The case relates to alleged undue interest shown by Achuthananandan in allotting about 2.33 acres in the possession
of the state government in Kasaragod when he was chief minister during the 2006-11 period.
Director General of Prosecutions T Asaf Ali reiterated that Achutanandan was the first accused in the case and there were four other accused. Chargesheet will be filed without further delay.
Justice S S Sateeshchandran reserved orders on the petition.
Meanwhile, Vigilance DYSP V G Kunhan, investigating officer in the case, filed a petition in the high court stating that the plea of Achutanandan was not maintainable as the plea was rejected by the high court earlier.
