Justice K K Sasidharan, however, gave liberty to the six students to file an appeal before the varsity Vice-Chancellor and directed him to pass orders on them as expeditiously as possible, in any case not later than two weeks.
The judge gave the direction after a two-hour hearing in his chambers of the students and the university registrar, who appeared before him complying with his November 19 order.
Passing interim orders on the petition by Vidya T Appukuttan and five others challenging the November 1 suspension, the judge had stayed the move.
The judge had earlier stayed the suspension of the first-year student of MA Mass Communication, who had complained of ragging by a senior male student. The girl and six other students who supported her were suspended by the university.
