A bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath issued notice to Delhi government and sought its explanation on an affidavit by the next date of hearing on September 16.
The court asked the government to also indicate in its affidavit the medical facilities available at the school-- Government Boys Senior Secondary School (GBSSS), in K Block of Jahangirpuri here--where the incident had occurred.
The court has taken up the issue as a public interest litigation (PIL) on a letter sent by Justice S Muralidhar, who has referred to news reports as per which the boy allegedly died due to lack of timely medical attention.
Delhi government standing counsel Raman Duggal, meanwhile, handed over a note to the court on what had happened that day.
