A division bench comprising Justice Tarun Agarwala and Justice Ashok Kumar passed the order on noticing that though a detailed counter affidavit had been sought by the court during the previous hearing, the reply filed by the respondent was short.
The court also directed the official to file a counter affidavit containing details of the admission process by August 18.
The order was passed on a petition filed by a medical student, Bhavna Tripathi, who moved the court alleging that while candidates were selected on merit in the first two rounds of counselling, the qualifying marks were decreased in the third round.
The petitioner had alleged that it had adversely affected meritorious students and "wrongly" benefited private colleges and those who had scored lower marks.
