A bench, headed by Chief Justice G Rohini, issued the notice to Delhi government and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on the PIL alleging over-aged drivers and vehicle examiners put theirs as well as public and passengers' lives at risk.
Moreover, such employees of the DTC have been exempted from medical examinations, the plea alleged.
The court has fixed the plea filed by advocate Kamran Malik for hearing on November 5.
The persons, above 55 years of age, be deployed on "soft and easy" jobs, the PIL said.
