"You seek instruction and let us know about the contract, if any, entered by you for release of movie on television," a bench of justices B D Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul said.
The court fixed April 28 for hearing the fresh plea of Uttar Pradesh-based activist Sampat Pal that the release of DVDs and the TV premiere of the movie be stalled.
The activist has sought a direction to producers including Sahara One Media Entertainment Ltd that the movie neither be shown on TV nor its DVDs be released.
A single judge had restrained the producers and their agents from "releasing, exhibiting, distributing and promoting" the film in India on March 5, saying "irreparable damage and injury" would be caused to Pal if it is released.

Later, on March 6, the high court had lifted the stay granted on its release.
The single judge while restraining its release, had noted that while the producers might suffer monetary loss, Pal will suffer both financial loss, as her copyright over Gulabi Gang has been used without her permission, as well as loss of reputation "which cannot be calculated in terms of money".
