Passing interim orders on a petition by the actor-politician challenging the defamation proceedings, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar stayed the G.O.
The order had contended that Vijaykant while addressing the meeting in Cuddalore on August 26 last made certain remarks against the Chief Minister which were 'defamatory'.
The Judge also ordered notice to the state government on petitions filed by Vijaykant challenging two other defamation cases against him and posted the matter after two weeks.
The government has initiated defamation proceedings against him for speeches made at Dindigul and Villupuram on August 1 and August 30 last respectively.
