Justice D Hariparanthaman in a recent order granted the stay on a petition by parents of five students studying in the Fort branch.
T N Prabhaharan, one of the parents, said in his affidavit that he chose to admit his child in the first standard in the school as it was near his house. He said that one of the conditions for admission for students in the Vidyalaya schools was a declaration by parents that they were living within five kms from the school.
Now,the Principal of the school has issued a notice that the Fort branch of the school would be shifted and merged with the main school on the Ordnance Factory campus located 25 km away, he said and prayed for setting aside the notice.
