Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the bench comprising Chief Justice P C Tatia and Justice Jaya Roy asked the chief secretary and the home secretary to reply on the crime.
The court, which would hear the case in the first week of February, took cognisance of the killing of a class IV girl at Jemuniatand village in Garhwa district.
According to Garhwa Superintendent of Police the girl's uncle filed an FIR against one Tarif Ansari under IPC sections 302 (Punishment for murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence).
The minor girl did not return home after she went to watch a football match yesterday being played at a local school grounds here.
