The First Bench that comprised of Acting Chief Justice Satish K Agnihotri and Justice M M Sundresh ordered issue of notice to Registrar General of the Madras High Court, Bar Associations and Advocate General.
The bench also appointed senior advocate K Krishnamoorthy as amicus curie in the matter to assist the court.
Senior Advocate G Rajagoplan, in his letter, requested the High Court Registrar General to prohibit all kinds of meetings or demonstrations within the High Court Premises forthwith and referred to a pamphlet distributed for conducting an open air meeting by a group of Lawyers between 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm today near Ambedkar Statue to discuss issue relating to Tamil as an official Language in Madras High Court.
Another writ petition filed by Traffic Ramaswamy was also directed to be tagged with the above suo motu writ petition.
Ramaswamy in his petition had prayed for a direction that action should be initiated against those advocates who barged into a court hall and disrupted proceedings on March 20.
