Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI), an incubation center and research and development unit of Hexagon AB, today announced relocation of its operations by opening a 1200-seat office at Hi Tech City here.
"HCCI is one of the main pillars of our R&D. The decision was rightly taken in making long-term investment in the future. Hyderabad is an integral part of Hexagon AB's global R&D and delivery network. This new and larger facility is further proof of Hexagon AB's commitment to India," said Steven Cost, President, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure.
The new facility of HCCI houses Hexagon's product R&D and services teams that work on an umbrella of integrated technologies in the areas of aerospace, agriculture, automotive infrastructure, construction, mining, power, safety, surveying, security and governments, said a statement from the company.
"To serve the purpose of shaping smart change and better align our expansion, it was rational to move to an avant-garde office environment. Reflecting on the glorious past from 200 square feet to a new facility is spread over 200,000 square feet from 27 years to today, is a new day. Built with smart technologies, the new HCCI office presently has a capacity of 1200 seats, with scope to further expand at a rate of 20 per cent," Steven said.
The Hyderabad center came into Hexagon AB's fold as part of its acquisition of engineering and software company Intergraph Corporation for USD 2.13 billion in July 2010, the statement added.
