After climbing 7.7 per cent to Rs 36.35 in intra-day session, shares of HCL Infosystems ended at Rs 35.70, up 5.78 per cent, on the BSE.
At the NSE, the scrip closed 5.47 per cent higher at Rs 35.65.
"HCL rose more than 7 per cent in the day after IT major Dell declared its strategic partnership with the company," said Hiren Dhakan, Associate Fund manager, Bonanza Portfolio Ltd.
Yesterday, the stock had gained 6 per cent following the announcement.

HCL Infosystems will leverage its pan-India network of partners to distribute the products, Dell had said in a release.
The strategic partnership will widen the reach of Dell's products, especially in tier II and tier III locations across the country, the release said, adding that the partnership also involves comprehensive Go-to-Market initiatives and activities.
In the broader market, the BSE 30-share Sensex ended 146.15 points up at 26,832.66.
