HDFC Bank, Aurobindo Society to train 15 lakh teachers

In a step to transform education in government schools of 12 states, including Rajasthan, HDFC Bank in collaboration with Sri Aurobindo Society has launched a scheme to train 15 lakh government school teachers through its zero investment innovations for education initiatives.
The initiative was launched in the presence of Rajasthan School Education Minister Vasudev Devnani today.
Through the project, 15 lakh teachers of government schools in 12 states will get a holistic view of the changes required in the existing education curriculum to make it contemporary and relevantthrough 'zero investment ideas' in schools, Nusrat Pathan, CSR head of HDFC Bank, said.
She said that in Rajasthan 2 lakh teacher will be trained in over 70,000 government school, which will help in achieving improved education delivery, reduced drop-out rate, enhanced teacher, parent and community involvement.
Last year, the partners had completed training of over 5 lakh teachers in Uttar Pradesh through the initiative, she said.
