The scheme aims to insure farmers against losses on account of adverse weather.
The company also said it has been allotted clusters in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Goa for implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
"HDFC ERGO is implementing Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme, wherein we are allotted nine districts in Assam, two districts in Uttarakhand and 31 districts of Madhya Pradesh for insurance of horticulture crops," HDFC ERGO Executive Director Anuj Tyagi told PTI here.
Talking about PMFBY, he said, "We have been allotted clusters in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Goa for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana."
"We are working in 22 districts of Gujarat, 5 in Maharashtra, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 in Odisha and 1 in Goa for PMFBY," he added.
