Head constable shot dead by taxi driver

A Haryana police head constable was allegedly shot dead here by a taxi driver over a personal enmity, police said today.
Anand Kumar from Tohana came on a motorcycle along with a friend to Dharam Pal's residence and allegedly shot the head constable in his stomach, SHO Subhash Bishnoi said. The duo fled the scene after carrying out the attack at around midnight yesterday, police added.
"Kumar had a grudge against Pal whom he regarded as being responsible for spoiling his relationship with his wife," he added.
The injured cop was first taken to a nearby government hospital and then to a hospital in Hisar where he succumbed to his wounds in the morning today.

Used cartridges of a .315 bore gun were recovered from the spot, the SHO said, adding that a divorce case involving Kumar and his wife was pending in court.
