Headmaster held on graft charge
Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar The vigilance sleuths today arrested the headmaster of a school on the charge of demanding and accepting bribe to offer job in the Railways to an unemployed youth in Odisha's Subarnapur district.
The arrested person has been identified as Dani Nag, Headmaster of Karlamuhan UGME School in Tarva Block in Subarnapur district, an official statement said.
He allegedly demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 40,000 from complainant Laxmikanta Kheti of village Thikadarpada under Town Bolangir of Bolangir.
It was alleged that Nag assured the complainant to provide job to Balasya Mahakur in Bhubaneswar Railway Workshop by influencing the higher Railway authorities.
"We laid a trap and accused Dani Nag was caught red handed by Vigilance Officers of Sambalpur Division while accepting bribe Rs 40,000. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Nag," the statement said.
