Heads of State or govts given traditional Rajasthani welcome

Heads of states or governments and delegates from 14 Pacific Island countries were today greeted by the traditional Rajasthani welcome at the Sanganer airport.
The guests from Island nations were greeted by school students who waved flags of the 14 nations while folk artists presented spectacular cultural presentation of traditional Kalbeliya, Gair, Girasiya, Sekia and Chakri dance at the airport, an official said.
Tourism department to the state government had made the special arrangements to showcase the varied and intriguing culture of Rajasthan.
The state capital is decked up and adequate security arrangements have been taken for the high profile event which will begin later in the day.
After receiving a warm welcome at the Airport, the delegates headed to majestic Amber fort - one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The delegates spent some time seeing the historic hill fort, which is known for its artistic style, series of gates and cobbled paths and other features.

The delegates saw hunting murals and exquisite glass and mirror artwork in the rooms of the structure inside the fort.
One of the principal tourist attractions in the Pink city now, the fort was built in 1592 AD by Raja Man Singh and Raja Jai Sigh-I expanded and renovated it later.
Those who have come for the 2nd Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) Summit are Nandi Glassie, Minister of Health, Justice and Parliamentary Services of Cook Island, Josaia V Bainimarama - Prime Minister of Fiji, Teekoa Luta - Special Envoy of Kiribati, Christopher J Loeak - President of Marshall Islands, YosiwoPalikkun George - Vice President of Micronesia, Baron DivavesiWaqa - President of Nauru.
The others area Toke Talagi - Prime Minister of Niue, T Remengesau Jr - President of Palau, Peter O Neill - Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, T L S Malielegaoi - Prime Minister of Samoa, Douglas Este - Deputy Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Semisi Tauelangi Fakahau - Minister for Agriculture, Food, Forests and Fisheries of Tonga, Enele S Sopoaga - Prime Minister of Tuvalu and Sato Kilman- Prime Minister of Vanuatu.
The Heads of State and other officials of the 14 resource rich Pacific Island counters area here to attend the 2nd Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) Summit.
