Acting on the report of Muzaffarpur District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Mall, the central jail's head warden Siyaram Singh has been suspended and a departmental proceedings initiated against him even as the SAP jawan Sanjay Kumar Sinha has been recommended for dismissal from service for dereliction of duty, IG (Prison) Anand Kishore told PTI.
The senior deputy collector Ajay Kumar had last week raided the prison cell of Shukla and seized four mobile phones from there.
Kumar had submitted a report to the district magistrate who, in another report to the IG (Prison) had recommended stern action against the errand jail official and SAP jawan.
Days after recovery of cellphones from his ward, the Pataliputra Engineering College director Sant Lal Shukla had sensationally made a public revelation that the incarcerated former member had made an extortion call demanding Rs two crores reportedly to contribute to JD(U)'s Adhikar rally in Patna on November 4.
Yadav had lodged an FIR against Shukla at Bhagwanpur police station charging the latter with making extortion call from the prison.
The ADG (Tirhut zone) Gupteshwar Pandey had probed the case and admitted that Shukla had indeed made extortion call to Yadav from jail.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also taken the charge against Shukla seriously and promised that the law will take its course if any anybody for committing crime.
