The minister was on a surprise check where he found all the five officials, including AFSO, absent from duty, officials said.
Of the missing officials, two of them had gone to attend training, but the remaining three officials did not have their names registered, officials said.
Vij spoke to the Finance Commissioner of Food and Supply department and asked him to suspend the absentee officials.
He directed the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to check the record of the office, especially the ration cards issued by this office, they said.
He had directed the Deputy Commissioner to make it certain that all the employees of the various offices of the district should reach in time, he said.
A few days back the Health minister raided the civil hospital at Kuruksetra and had suspended three officials including a doctor.
