Health Minister J P Nadda said that his Ministry is constantly in touch with the North Eastern states affected by the earthquake and all support is being provided to them.
"Union Health Ministry in touch with northeastern states affected by earthquake, all necessary support being provided. Three-member Health Ministry team to reach Manipur by tomorrow to assess ground level situation," he tweeted.
At least six persons were killed and over 90 injured as a 6.7 magnitude earthquake with epicentre in Manipur hit the northeastern region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Assam, and asked him to oversee the situation arising due to the earthquake.
The PM also spoke to Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and other chief ministers of North Eastern states to take stock of the situation.
