Hearing impairment rectified under RSP's Project Sushruti

Sabina Kumbhar, a 30-year-old poor woman belonging to a farmer�s family from Bagdega village near here, was suffering from impairment in one of her ears for a long time.
Though she faced a lot of difficulty in her day to day work, she was unable to get it treated due to lack of money.
The case of Sambhari Kumbhar, a 45 year old woman from Jhirpani was even more severe as she was unable to hear anything due to problem in both the ears. Money was again a constraint in her getting treatment.
Thanks to "Project Sushruti" of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for the poor and underprivileged people with hearing impairment, today both of them are able to hear.
It is noteworthy that in the current fiscal till date 15 poor and needy persons with hearing ailment have got benefitted through the project Sushruti, RSP said in a statement today.
The two patients were earlier identified by the doctors of IGH (Ispat General Hospital) at the health camp organised by RSP with the help of Medical and Health Services department.
As these cases needed special intervention, the doctors referred them to IGH and after thorough examination by specialists they were recommended for suitable surgery free of cost, it said.�
The two patients were admitted at IGH for the surgery on February 10, RSP sources said adding after successful Tympano-plasty by Dr. S. C. Mishra, Joint Director, ENT and Dr. D. Sahu, Senior Consultant (ENT), the patients recovered quickly.
