A court today adjourned till tomorrow the hearing on a plea by a plaintiff who alleged that the script of Rajinikanth-starrer 'Lingaa' was his story and copied by the producer and sought a direction to the filmmakers to produce the original script in the trial court.
Additional District Munsiff Court Judge Vishwanath posted the hearing for tomorrow to enable the counsel for the film producers and others to file their counter.
Earlier, the ADM court had issued summons to Rajinikanth and others asking them to appear before it on March 8 in connection with a suit filed against his film "Linga" on the charge that its storyline had been stolen from another script writer.
It had also summoned K R Ravirathinam (plaintiff), film producer Rockline Venkatesh, B Ponkumar, Director K S Ravikumar and the General Secretary of South Indian Film Writers Association.
The petitioner, K R Ravi Rathinam's counsel and counsel for the four defendants, including Rajinikanth and film producer 'Rockline' Venkatesh, appeared in the court yesterday.
Ravi Rathinam's advocate filed a petition demanding that the original script be produced by the filmmakers so that it could be compared with his script.
