The hearing of the bail petition of Hyder Ali, arrested from Palakkad in Kerala for his suspected involvement in various cases including the 1993 Chennai RSS office bombing case, was postponed to June 10 today.
Ali had moved the petition in the Special Court for Bomb Blasts and when it came up, Judge Suresh Vishwanathan posted it for Tuesday, police said.
Ali, who was on the run for the last two decades, is accused of possessing explosives and hatching criminal conspiracy to commit murders. He has been lodged in the Central Jail here and CB CID-Special Investigation Division (SID) team is likely to seek his custody next week, they said.
Wanted in connection with an attempt to murder some leaders of Hindu organisations in 1989, Ali was arrested on night of June 2.
He was also accused of attempting to kill leaders of various Hindu organisations in retaliation to the arrest of now proscribed Al-Umma founder S A Basha by CBI in 1993 in connection with RSS office bombing at Chennai in August 1993, which claimed 11 lives.
