Heat wave conditions prevail in UP

Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under intense condition as heat waves prevailed in parts of eastern and western regions of the state with Banda district recording 45.6 degrees celsius.
The day temperatures changed little over the state. They were markedly above normal in Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly divisions and were appreciably above normal in the remaining divisions of the state, according to a Meteorological department report.
Mercury hovered at 40 degree Celsius and above at most places of the state with the Banda district recording as high as 45.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Allahabad at 45.5 and Sultanpur at 45.4 degree Celsius.
The state capital Lucknow recorded 43.7 degrees Celsius which was four degrees above normal, they added.
