Heat wave prevailed in major parts of Uttar Pradesh as weather remained dry with Allahabad recording the highest temperature at 45.1 degrees Celsius today.
MeT office said day temperatures changed little over all the divisions of the state and were markedly above normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Lucknow and Moradabad divisions.
Allahabad was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius.
According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied with squall are likely at isolated places of the state.
