"The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 41.6 and 30.5 degrees Celsius respectively," a MeT department official said, adding that there was no likelihood of any sharp decline in temperatures in the national capital.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was at 42.7 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow, the maximum and minimum temperatures may settle at 42 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively, the weatherman said.
The capital witnessed season's maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius on May 25 and the MeT department forecast says it may go up to 46 degrees Celsius by the end of May.
The maximum and minimum humidity oscillated between 40 to 12 per cent today, the official said, adding that there was no chance of rain in near future as the sky will largely remain clear.
Despite the marginal dip in the mercury level, the temperature would be three to four degrees above normal here, he said.
